This is produced by the California Thoroughbred Breeders Association in Arcadia, CA. It is funded by The Oak Tree Charitable Foundation. This is the first in an educational series of web features. This first story is an overview on the subject of Thoroughbred race horses and their usefulness and success after their racing careers are over.

that is a lovely video :) i am a tb owner and he is the only horse i am now able to ride. i suffered a work injury which means my right hand no longer works hardly at all, and my left is getting very tired doing the job of 2 hands. my ex racer tb i ride with no hands. i have disabled reins so i can still hold reins to exercise my permantly disabled hand, but i steer him with my feet and stop him with a sudden stiffening of my body. if it was not for my tb i would not be able to horseride anymore
