Highlights of Doug Mills outstanding performance in the Colt Starting Finals at the Mane Event Trainers Challenge. Doug had only 4 one hour sessions in the round pen before he took this challenging 3 year old gelding to the big arena for the final session in front of a standing room only crowd. • The first annual Great Santa Fe Trail Horse Race is scheduled for September 3-15, 2007. This unique sporting event will introduce the sport of endurance riding to millions of Americans and, at the same time, educate the American public about the historic Santa Fe Trail. The race is being organized by a group of racing enthusiasts who own ranches along the Santa Fe Trail. $1.5 million has been budgeted to produce the race, which will be sponsored by various corporations and individuals. Plans for the race already have the equestrian community talking — all around the world.

A True Horsewoman

Times have changed in the horse world. I’m going back to a time when your horse comes first. A time where you have a working partnership with your horse. You train your horse in kindness and he will work in kindness. This relationship is what separates you from the rest. Your horse is your best friend, working with you from sun up to sun down and always with unquestionable devotion and trust. You are the horse’s best friend. You feed your horse first before you feed yourself. My rule of thumb.
Training mustangs will always be about building that relationship first.You take care of your horse and he takes care of you.The bond between horse and rider is unbreakable,you work as one.
3-Strikes Ranch, a Mustang outpost, is a Non-Profit habitat to hundreds of mustangs from all over the United States. A natural environment for wild mustangs to run on the open prairies of the Sand Hills. Sand Hill ranch trained horses are what 3-Strikes Ranch is all about.
