   12 is absolutely in the horses prime. Ellen Whitaker still jumps her 17 year old Kanselier around big tracks and speed classes! If the horse is still comfortable in the work he is in, and is showing no signs of slowing down, there is no need to just put it down to old age! My pony is 14 and we are jumping BC pro sparkle round and Discovery BSJA!

   haha yeah he was wrong, haha the older a grand prix/olympic/high level, proffessional horse gets, the more experienced he will be.

   @katie and fanny. No, 12 is not young for a horse- especially a sport horse. 12 is around middle age or approaching middle age. Many showjumpers are far younger than 12.

   Wow!! That horse is beautiful!! You could see that he was really hyper; after every jump he threw his head up and you could see the whites in his eyes!

   @CaitlyDangerSummers Most deffinately! Most eventers have horses in their teens! I just retired my 26 year old! 11 is still very young!
