Just bought a registered quarter horse AQHA Need Help with papers?
Written by admin on April 6, 2009 – 1:39 pm -I just bought a registered quarter horse from a rancher who was maybe the third or fourth owner to this horse he knows nothing about this horse. He just ran with the cows for almost four years and was never handled in any way. Well when I saw him I knew he was a gem. He has papers but the papers have the first owner on them and no other owners have not been updated. I have a bill of sales from the guy I bought him from. How can I get my name on the papers?
Do you want the correct, official answer or what most people do? The correct, official answer is to get transfers signed by everyone that has owned him, pay a transfer fee for each transfer and your wings will grow a couple more feet….or…………….get the person whose name is on the papers, you can find the person through AQHA, tell him what has transpired and the conditions under which you bought the horse and he will probably sign a transfer from him straight to you…you send the original papers and the transfer in to AQHA and the cost of one transfer and eventually you will get his papers back with your name as the registered owner. Good luck, you don't necessarily need to share all of your information with the AQHA, just say that you are trying to locate this particular person, period.

Best Place to Buy a Quarter Horse in Oklahoma?
Written by admin on April 6, 2009 – 1:39 pm -I am looking to buy a good quality quarter horse in oklahoma. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
it really depends on what you are looking to get the QH FOR. Sure, you could go to the sale barns and get one for a few hundred, but trust me, it is a crap shoot and a really sad situation. There are a number of sites with listings, but also check with the co-ops in your area and check their message boards. I recently moved from Oklahoma and we found a WONDERFUL cutting horse by looking at the co-op board.

For all you horse people !!!???…?
Written by admin on April 6, 2009 – 1:38 pm -I just got my family and I just got another farm. We used to have a five acre farm, but we decided to sell the five acre farm and we bought a fifteen acre farm.
I ride horses, but my thoroughbred, Timmy, is thirty now and we are letting him live out the rest of his days as a companion. So I am searching for another horse now.
I am looking for a cold or warm blood horse…preferably no hot bloods though. My horse Timmy scares me when he gets colic so much, he is a hot blood.
So if any of you horse people have any suggestions on a good horse breed I should try looking at then please answer this question.
Oh yeah…I also do English riding and jumping. I also enjoy trail riding, but in English mount.
As an American Saddlebred enthusiast and owner, I too must give a plug for the versitality of this breed. All are not high stepping show horses. Many have turned out to be great sporthorses.
Good luck on your quest for your new horse!!
And , congrats. on your new larger farm!! Just think….. you might be able to get a couple of "homeless" horses to help keep the pastures mowed and fertilized!! he he

any ideas/tips on how to start a HIGH SCHOOL equestrian team??
Written by admin on April 6, 2009 – 1:38 pm -i know there are at least 3 other riders at my high school 2 jumpers and a dressage rider… do you think its possible to start a team to just go to local shows?
we also ride at different barns and some have horses while other don't
Depends on your school, where you live, and if you can secure funding, an instructor, a training area, and horses for every interested rider.
Funding is the toughest one since you will probably have to pay your instructor, the barn whose ring your using for practice, and if you do all that you will probably need to lease some horses for “team use” for riders without their own horse, or those that keep their horse at another facility. It’s doubtful that your school will pay for all that so you’ll have to collect dues from team members which would be a lot to ask considering that they will probably also have to pay for their classes at local shows and transportation for their horses to get to the shows. Its a BIG job organizing something like that and is pretty unrealistic if you only have 3 or 4 people. Start recruiting first!!

Do you think Equestrian disciplines should be part of the Olympics?
Written by admin on April 6, 2009 – 1:38 pm -I am horse rider myself and my personal opinion is that they do deserve to be in such a huge competition as getting to that Olmypic level in all Dressage, Cross Country and Show Jumping-Team Eventing& Individual Eventing, Then there individual dressage and individual show jumping. Is extremely TOUGH to even qualify for the level you see in the Olympics!.
Yes they should and i am glad that they are.
I have been around horses all my life. and i have been riding for about 6-7 years and it is indeed a difficult sport.
I always get annoyed at the arrogant people that this horseback riding is easy, and that all we do is just “sit up there”.
Im always like, yeah… id like to see you try to do what i do every day, then we’ll talk.

Has anyone ever worn Under Armour under their show clothes?
Written by admin on April 6, 2009 – 1:38 pm -I’m on the Ohio State equestrian team and since we show in the winter time, I was considering getting some type of Under Armour shirt to wear under my horsemanship shirt to help protect against the cold.
Has anyone done this and if so, which is the best kind of shirt to get?
Yeah, I’ve definitely worn UnderArmour during classes! Especially at Dickinson this past Sunday, the show was freezing!
Anyways, anything goes as long as you can’t see it. Even if it shows through your shirt a little bit, the judge isn’t going to notice it. I usually wear black long-sleeved UA. I wouldn’t get a turtleneck in case it pokes over the top of the stock tie. No bright colors, stick with black, white, or tan. I wear black because the sleeves are a little long, so they aren’t noticed under my crochet gloves… although white would be a good idea if your regular shirt sleeves aren’t long enough, then you can just pull the sleeves over the cuff of your gloves a little bit…

Equestrian workouts to strengthen my upper body?
Written by admin on April 6, 2009 – 1:38 pm -I ride horses and im not too happy with my weight. im only 13 but i still feel self conscious and like I could be helping myself out more. I want to strengthen my upper body [arms, shoulders, back] along with my core [abs and what not] i know this is gonna be difficult but im up for it.
I was looking for exercises to help me gain all of that. On and off the horse.
I tend to ride once a week but when the time changes ill have more time in the afternoon to ride, so ill be more active with the horses soon.(:
You'd all be life savers if you could help out!
Okay so crunches (make sure you use your abs to pull yourself up and not your neck!)
reverse crunches (lay on the floor like your going to do a normal crunch instead use your abs to raise your bent legs up at about a 45 degree angle and slowly lower them–it works your lower abs)
ab twists—sit on the floor with your feet flat on the floor, spread about shoulder-width apart and holding a soccer or basketball slowly lean back, flexing your abs all the time. When you get about 1/2 way down to the floor stop and twist your torso to the left, hold for 1 second and repeat with your right side—after this lower yourself to the floor slowly and raise back up like a regular crunch…repeat about 15 times.
push-ups, bi-cep curls and arm lifts (with about 5-10 lbs weights) will stengthen your arms and shoulders..
Good Luck–also remember that lugging water buckets (full), saddles, full-wheelbarrows, hay bales, mucking stalls, etc are great ways to build arm strength and help out around the barn!
Good Luck!

How to rewrite History: Rate 1 to 10
Written by admin on April 6, 2009 – 1:38 pm -Judy Wallman, a professional genealogical researcher, discovered that
Hillary Clinton’s great-great uncle, Remus Rodham, was hanged for horse stealing and train robbery in Montana in 1889.
The only known photograph of Remus shows him standing on the gallows. On the back of the picture is this inscription: ‘Remus Rodham; horse thief, sent to Montana Territorial Prison 1883, escaped 1887, robbed the Montana Flyer six times. Caught by Pinkerton detectives, convicted, and hanged in 1889.’
Judy e-mailed Hillary Clinton for comments. Hillary’s staff sent back the
following biographical sketch:
‘Remus Rodham was a famous cowboy in the Montana Territory. His business empire grew to include acquisition of valuable equestrian assets and intimate dealings with the Montana railroad. Beginning in 1883, he devoted several years of his life to service at a government facility, finally taking leave in 1887 to resume his dealings with the railroad. Subsequently, he was a key player in a vital investigation run by the renowned Pinkerton Detective Agency. In 1889, Remus passed away during an important civic function held in his honor, when the platform on which he was standing collapsed.’
And that is how it’s done, folks!
Yes very clever
10/10

It makes sense, I just can't find the right answer. I would guess around 4ft though.
